The recent Times Higher Education (THE) Asia Universities Summit, marking Malaysia’s inaugural hosting, hailed the nation’s ascent as a global education powerhouse for academic excellence and innovation.

In tandem with the summit, THE held its Awards Asia 2024 ceremony, where Malaysia clinched a notable accolade for Outstanding Support for Students. Sunway University emerged triumphant, lauded for its exceptional dedication to student welfare and fostering a positive campus environment.

Sunway Education Group, Chief of Student Life and Services, Lee Siok Ping expressed gratitude for the prestigious recognition, attributing it to the collective commitment of the campus community. She emphasised Sunway’s holistic approach to student success, prioritizing not only academic achievements but also personal development and well-being.

Yosafat Frans Christian, an Actuarial Studies student from Jakarta, Indonesia, commended Sunway University for its diverse range of student-centric events, including job preparation workshops and industry talks, which offer valuable opportunities for international students like himself.

Echoing the sentiment, fellow A-Level student Wong Heng Wai highlighted the unwavering support received from lecturers, particularly as a student athlete. She praised their understanding of his academic and sports commitments, providing additional guidance and emotional support when needed.
