Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional Loan (PTPTN)
The PTPTN Education Loan Scheme was created for the purpose of providing educational loans to students studying at local Higher Education Institutions. This education loan will allow students to pay in full or part of the tuition fees as well as the cost of living throughout the study period. At the same time, it opens up more opportunities for all students to pursue higher education.

- Malaysian citizens only.
- Aged not more than 45 years on the date of application.
- Obtain the letter of offer from Sunway University/Sunway College by fulfilling the entry eligibility requirements set by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE) and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
- Attend a course that is approved by MOHE and registered with PTPTN.
- Attend a course that obtained the Certificate of Accreditation from MQA and still within the validity period at the date of application.
- Confirmation must be obtained from PTPTN for students with different qualifications.
- The remaining period of study at the time of application must not be less than 1 (one) year.
- Has opened a SSPN-i / SSPN-i Plus account and a CIMB account.

- Once PTPTN has accepted all the submitted documents and approved the loan application, the loan will be disbursed directly into the designated CIMB saving account.
- Generally, the first disbursement will be 1 (one) month after the approval of documents.
- Loan disbursement to students for the following semester will be made based on the following conditions:
a. Still pursuing studies; and
b. Passed the examination in the previous semester with a CGPA of 2.0 and above - The disbursement may be delayed due to students undergoing internship or work placement.
- In most cases, students may have to top up the fees.
- Students who received the PTPTN loan must hold the insurance coverage provided to protect the loan based on the study period and loan repayment period. The insurance will be deducted every semester when the loan is disbursed.
- Insurance company will be appointed by PTPTN.
- The premium paid for insurance coverage will be deducted before the loan amount is disbursed into the designated CIMB savings account.
- Poor academic performance
a. Average semester results below 40%
b. GPA below 2.0 - Deferment of studies
- The loan will be terminated if a student fails to continue in the programme of study as stipulated in the loan agreement.
- When the loan is terminated, student is required to repay the loan amount taken during the duration of study.
- A written appeal must be submitted to PTPTN if the student is unable to repay the loan amount taken during the duration of study. /li>
- The loan can be cancelled if a student due to any of the following reasons:
a. Received sponsorship from other organisation(s)
b. Withdrawal from the University
c. Change of programme - Students who wish to cancel the loan throughout the study period have to complete the “Borang Pembatalan Perjanjian” available on the PTPTN website.
- The student is required to repay the loan amount taken during the duration of study once the loan is cancelled.
- Students who wish to transfer programme throughout the study period have to complete the “Borang Permohonan Pertukaran Kursus” available on the PTPTN website.
- The PTPTN loan can be transferred if the students are progressing to the next semester in the new programme.
- Attended a full-time Bachelor's Degree;
- Obtained First-Class Honours in a Bachelor's Degree;
- Graduated within the stipulated period based on the PTPTN loan offer document;
- PTPTN education loan does not overlap with any other sponsorship(s);
- Submit application within 12 months from the date of convocation; and
- Borrowers from B40 and M40 family household income based on information when applying for repayment exemption.
Documents to be submitted:
- Certified copy of First-Class Honours Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Certified copy of transcript of examination results.
- Certified copy of Accreditation Certificate from Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
- Confirmation letter for First-Class Honours (if it is not stated "First-Class" on borrower's degree).
- Graduation confirmation letter (if the date of graduation is not recorded on the degree/ transcript).
- Income document when applying for the waiver exemption according to the specified category (whichever applicable).
- Latest Salary Slip.
- Verification Letter from Commissions of Oath (confirmation of income).
- Latest Tax Assessment Statement (BE Form).
- Latest EPF Statement / Non - EPF Confirmation Letter.
- Pension statement.
- Penakat Pension Statement (SOCSO).
- Death certificate.
- Divorce Certificate.
- Verification Letter from Commissions of Oath (For Undetectable Cases).
- Verification Letter from Commissions of Oath (Guardian).
